President Barack Obama was caught on an open mic making some blunt and intriguing remarks about the actions of Republicans in recent budget negotiations that produced a deal to avert a government shutdown at a fundraiser in Chicago on Thursday, CBS News reports.
In audio relayed by the network, the president can be heard addressing unsuccessful Republican maneuvering to roll back portions of health care reform, as well as restrict Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funding, in reaching an agreement.
"I said, 'You want to repeal health care?'" Obama revealed at the private event. "Go at it. We'll have that debate. You're not going to be able to do that by nickel-and-diming me in the budget. You think we're stupid?'"
Ultimately, the resolutions pushed by Republicans targeting what may be the president's most significant legislative accomplishment to date and the women's health service provider failed to advance with the larger budget deal.
"Put it in a separate bill," the president said he told House Speaker John Boehner and members of his staff. "We'll call it up. And if you think you can overturn my veto, try it. But don't try to sneak this through."
CBS Radio News White House correspondent Mark Knoller heard Obama's remarks, which the president perhaps did not realize were being relayed by the microphone he was using to the White House press room on an audio feed.

After reading this article, I can hear all of the bravado of the GOP! For example, Ryan: Obama "Decide[d] To Pour On The Campaign Rhetoric [And] Launch His Re-Election." Boehner: Obama Gave "The Most Partisan Speech That I Can Imagine." Rove: "He's Wrong [That] This Is A Revenue Problem. This Is A Spending Problem, And It's His Spending." Krauthammer: "I've Rarely Heard A Speech By A President [That Was] So Shallow, So Hyper-Partisan." I could go on but I am sure that by now everyone with an average I.Q. gets the point. However, for those who insist on portraying their best "Rainman" role at this point and pretend to "dumb down" the facts; here they are.
First of all, I believe that our UNITED STATES PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA has earned the right to say whatever he wants to say. Ironically in the midst of these non-progressive, trifling, and intelligence optional comments made by the GOP/Teabaggers, they forgot one key point that I will always keep insisting upon; That I have never found a Republican who did not see an Obama budget or proposal that they ever liked. Actually if memory serves me correctly, when the GOP was the minority, they never voted "Yes" on any legislation that our President proposed. Lest we forget, while we are on the subject of spending and budgets, it takes either some hella nerve or acute political amnesia to make statements about a financial catatrophe that they and their leader "George W. Bush, Jr." created by starting two wars without budgeting for them, deregulating wall street that sent them on a mortgage spending spree as they pimped out the taxpayers and then bet on a collapse, and then signed a bill called the Treasury Assets Recovery Plan or TARP that agreed to use the taxpayers money to bail out banks but left out of the back door of the white house after signing TARP into law and passed a law on to the Obama administration to distribute the money to the banks so that it would look like our current President was bailing out the banks!!! Then let us not forget about all of 10s of millions of dollars of bonuses that healthcare industry was paying their CEOs to deny healthcare for the sick (pre-existing conditions), for canceling coverage for those persons who get too sick and they have to pay too much money out for, or even for the teens who graduate from high school to make sure that their parents can no longer carry them so if they get sick, they could just die. Now don't forget our elderly and the unemployed whose jobs the GOP shipped out of the country to avoid paying liveable wages to, who are on fixed incomes but had to make a decision to pay their health insurance premium or buy food or pay their rent but that is okay I guess. All while these people are receiving the "best healthcare" complements of the taxpayers. But when the taxpayer decides to ask for some of their own money to pay for affordable healthcare, they are told that it is too expensive. Truly a WTF moment. But I will borrow a line from out current President, does the GOP think that the American people are stupid? All of these events and spending by the GOP pushed america over a cliff of destruction. So now the GOP wants to exercise "fiscal discipline" once they got their millions pocketed and the rest of America struggles!!! Really GOP???
So our President who campaigned on the premise of equality and opportunity for "All Americans" makes decisions that will benefit the rest of america that was robbed without a weapon, and now make the richest persons who pocketed their money through taxbreaks for over 12 years, dodged the IRS by stashing their profits in Swiss bank accounts, and had friends in suits in the White House to pay their "fair share" of money and actually "give back" to the rest of America and pay their fair share and stop being Corporate welfare kings and queens, you now go into the attack mode as you try to discredit. I say like Public Enemy used to say, "Don't Believe the Hype."
However, I do understand the premise. Get America outraged at the President so we can steal the White House and finish looting americans. Here we are at the "scene of the outrage!" It was a closed meeting that was planned and that was to be held after the President answered questions from the media, follow me. The media was asked to leave the room and there would be no more questions. However, the media left but taping equipment, microphones were seemingly left behind!!! Inportant to note is that in closed meetings, media equipment is not allowed to remain in the room so how did this equipment get to remain in the room when the President had his own methods of recording meetings. Afterall he does have Press Secretaries for that!!! Nevertheless our President was taped and posted on national tv in a matter of hours! I don't that Bush was given this imposition! However the primary issue I want to ask each one of the Americans, now that we have determined that the media pulled a 007 on the President in attempts of trying to make him look bad and unwilling to compromise. Well America I want you to make up your minds, do you want our President to fight for us, or do you want him to compromise, you can't have both. In addition, was their anything that he said in private untrue and have you not thought it a time or two? So since this is the case, then who are we fooling media? You did exactly what the GOP wanted you to do, create more talking points for their party who has always and will always, "Steal from the poor and Give to the Rich."
